Erin Evans is a native of Albany, Georgia. Growing up in a musical family, she started singing in church at the age of four. She attended Dougherty Comprehensive High School and was a part of the performing arts chorale under the direction of Mr. Mark Butler. Dougherty High's Performing Arts Chorale is known for their rich soulful and well-trained sound. The chorale has received countless awards and performed with artist such as Richard Smallwood and Vickie Winans. The Chorale has also performed for former President Jimmy Carter. After graduating from high school, Erin received a music scholarship to Bethune Cookman University (BCU). While attending BCU, she had the privilege of singing background for American Idol’s Fantasia Barrino. Erin relocated back home to Albany, Georgia where she attended Albany State University. There she became classically trained with a voice type of mezzo-soprano. In 2014, she was one of eight students from the Albany State University Concert Chorale who traveled and performed in Italy. She has been featured in plays at Albany State University such as "Spunk" and "Romeo and Juliet". In Spring of 2017, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in voice at Albany State University. Erin is a part of Cornelius Drake and Foundation, a gospel group based out of Albany, Georgia and has been a part of many recording projects of local gospel artist. She has also sung background for other artists such as Jessica Reedy, Zacardi Cortez, LeAndria Johnson, Luther Barnes and Todd Galberth. She is currently the Chorale Director at Monroe Comprehensive High School where her performing Concert Choir has earned superior ratings.
